Mats Johansson

Mats is an experienced investor and serial entrepreneur. He is currently a Venture Partner at Mubadala Capital Ventures, a €400m fund investing in early growth-stage companies in Europe. Launched in 2019, the fund has made investments in TIER, Glovo, Cazoo and WeFox. Mats is a founding Partner of three VC firms: Spintop Ventures, TeknoSeed, and GP Bullhound Sidecar Fund, and is an active angel investor. Mats has made over 50 investments in tech companies including Avito, MariaDB, Scalado, Small Giant Games, and has had 10 exits including 5 IPO:s plus acquisitions by eBay, Microsoft and Naspers.
Mats was previously CEO of a NASDAQ listed company, and an entrepreneur based in the US, UK and Sweden. Prior to this, he held senior marketing roles at American Express in the US and Europe.
Mats holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Lund University, Sweden, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
