Alvaro obtained his Ph.D. in Uppsala, Sweden, and after 7 years of academic career focused in computational biology and the use of data for the advancement of life sciences, decided to take a step to the other side of the world and move to California. In the Bay Area he joined a biotechnology company, 10x Genomics, as a computational lead. He led his own research group and experienced from inside how hypergrowth companies work. After 10x did one of the most successful 2019 IPOs, he returned to Sweden last December in order to inspire science based entrepreneurship and spread this new knowledge as technology or investment advisor.
