Anna Holmquist
Founder & CEO at Gazzine and StarContent
Anna Holmquist is a new media strategist and entrepreneur with a background in journalism. She is the founder of Gazzine.com, a go-to-platform where readers can find all the high-quality content (with the exception of breaking news) they want in one place. Journalists, on the other hand, can have their content translated and spread to the rest of the world, keep their rights to the content and monetize it over a long period of time. The goal is to disrupt the global market for publishing.
One part of Gazzine’s business model is StarContent – a content marketing-platform where brands can buy texts produced by the journalists on Gazzine. Working with content marketing is not new to Anna. Prior to founding Gazzine, she was the CEO of Strossle AB, a media technology company that helps publishers make more money via native ads. At Strossle, Anna worked with most of the large publishing houses in Sweden, which provided a great overview of the publishing market’s challenges.
She has also lived in London where she worked at Houzz, a digital platform that connects homeowners with interior designers and architects.
Anna has also founded Right Brain Agency – a content marketing agency with clients such as PWC and Tyrolit. Prior to that, Anna served as editor-in-chief of one of Sweden’s largest communities for families for five years – Familjeliv.se. At Familjeliv, she integrated editorial parts of the site with the community, worked closely with sales to find solutions that made it possible for brands to connect with the visitors of the site and managed to increase both time spent and revenue.
Anna began her career at Spray Network, a Swedish internet company where she developed newspapers for the web.
