Tommy Palm

Awarded Game designer, serial entrepreneur

Tommy Palm, long-time Swedish games industry veteran, is the co-founder, CEO and resident “Guru of visual computing” at Resolution Games, where he works in the forefront to man the helm of the company’s voyage into creating original IP for VR and AR gameplay that will forever change the way mainstream consumers engage in the platforms. Most recently Tommy was the spokesperson and Games Guru of Candy Crush Saga maker King Digital Entertainment, where he helped lead the company to its IPO at a $7B valuation. Prior to that, his company Fabrication Games was acquired by King Digital Entertainment in 2012 to provide the platform ultimately used to help the wildly successful company transition to mobile. Tommy also founded Stugan, Jadestone, The Game Trail and consulted on games development since he first started programming for Commodore 64 in 1986.

Scott Sandell

Managing General Partner, NEA

Scott Sandell is Managing General Partner at NEA. A General Partner since 2000, and Co-Managing General Partner from 2015 - 2017, Scott served as head of the firm’s technology investing practice for 10 years and has led NEA’s China investing activities for over a decade. Since joining the firm in 1996, he has personally led investments in industry-transforming companies like Bloom Energy, Data Domain, Fusion-io, Salesforce.com, Tableau Software, WebEx, and Workday. Scott is one of only four investors named to the Forbes Midas List every year since 2007, with 24 technology companies in his portfolio having successfully completed public offerings or mergers.

Scott is currently a director of Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) and a number of private companies including Automation Anywhere, Branch, Cloudflare, Coursera, Enigma, Expanse (fka Qadium), Hello Alfred, One Concern, Robinhood, Sentons, Transfix, and WaterBit. Other previous investments include Fusion-io (acquired by SanDisk), Neoteris (acquired by Juniper Networks), NetIQ (acquired by Attachmate Corporation), Playdom (acquired by Disney), and Spreadtrum Communications (acquired by Tsinghua Unigroup).

Prior to joining NEA, Scott was a Product Manager at Microsoft, where he worked on Windows 95. Before joining Microsoft, Scott was the first salesperson at C-ATS Software and later co-founded and ran the company’s European subsidiary. He began his career at the Boston Consulting Group. Scott holds an MBA from Stanford and an AB in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College.

Scott also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth and is a former Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) (2014-2015).

Carolina Brochado

Investment Director, SoftBank Vision Fund

Carolina works on sourcing of global investments for Softbank Vision Fund and is based in London.

Carolina focuses on fintech, digital health & wellness and marketplaces. Prior to joining Softbank, Carolina was a Partner at Atomico, where she sourced and collaborated with portfolio companies for almost five years. Some of her investments included Lendinvest, Gympass, Hinge Health, Ontruck and Rekki. Previously Carolina has worked as Head of Ops to a now defunct gifting e-commerce start-up, as an investor at Chicago-based private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners and within Consumer/Retail Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch in New York.

Carolina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She is originally from Brazil.

Underlying his vision for global philanthropy is the conviction that modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can be instrumental in dissolving barriers between nations and bridging the social and political differences among people. This vision was reflected in Schools-Online, a nonprofit he co-founded in 1996 to connect the world, one school at a time (6400 schools in 36 countries were provided with computers and access to the Internet) and merged with Relief International in 2003; Global Catalyst Foundation, co-founded in 2000 to improve lives through effective education and empowerment of the youth (with special emphasis on young women)
using the leverage of ICT, and UN-GAID, a United Nations global forum that promotes ICT in developing countries where he served as Co-Chairman (2009-2011).

Eugene Borukhovich

Global Head of Digital Health and Innovation, Bayer

Eugene Borukhovich is a serial intra and entrepreneur currently serving as a Global Head of Digital Health (G4A) at Bayer. He is also an Entrepreneur in Residence at Personal Health Solutions (PHS) Capital, as well as an advisor to numerous digital health startups. Eugene enjoys mentoring startups and an avid blogger about innovation, digital health and startups.

Susan Standiford is Chief Technology Officer at Ingka Group. Ingka Group, formerly know as IKEA Group, is the world’s largest home furnishing retailer and owns and operates 367 IKEA stores in 30 markets (FY18) under franchise agreements with Inter IKEA Systems B.V. Susan has started her IKEA career February 2019 and has the overall responsibility for technological vision, implementing technology strategies, and ensuring that the technological resources are aligned with the company's business needs. She comes with 25 years of technology experience. Prior to IKEA, she held leading positions in several global businesses such as Oracle, Disney, Zeal, Travelocity and others. Susan brings a strong customer focus in combination with digital & tech capabilities. Susan has an engineering background and comes with a successful track-record in growing and transforming retail businesses, and building and managing strong Tech teams. She is also engaged in many advisory and supervisory boards for start-ups, scale-ups and incubators working with founders for building innovative products. Susan is married to Chris and has a beloved dog called Molly. Her passion is playing tennis and traveling.
