Mr. Mikael Pentikäinen is CEO of the Federation of Finnish Enterprises since May 2016. He has been responsible for many leading media organisations in Finland: Executive Editor of the newspapers Maaseudun Tulevaisuus, Helsingin Sanomat, the largest newspaper in Nordic countries, and Etelä-Saimaa, President of Sanoma News, and President and Executive Editor of Finnish News Agency STT. He is and has been member and chairman in many different companies and member of the executive board and management team in several companies, also in the role of chairman.
Mikael has strong and versatile experience from managing different companies (small, middle size and large; local, national and international). Key words of his leadership style are fairness, courage, humility, integrity and trust. Mikael has strong experience and skills in communication: writing lots of articles and columns, blogging, using Twitter, giving speeches. He also published the book Trust in February 2014. Having been board member of press freedom organisations and companies owned by student union he has strong experience and vision of social responsibility and value-based business.
Mikael is married and has five children. He loves reading and many kinds of sports and renovates an old village school in Eastern Finland.
