CTO at Aurora Propulsion Technologies
Perttu is the founder and CTO of Aurora Propulsion Technologies, working on technologies critical to the sustainable use of space. He has developed the world’s smallest resistojet rocket engines that use water as fuel, as well as the Plasma Brake deorbiting technology that uses the natural orbital environment to prevent dead satellites from remaining in orbit as debris. His technology has been flown on 4 satellites to date, with a lot more in the works. Having grown the technology from zero to customer operations in orbit, he’s arduously worked through all the stages in the growth journey of a deeptech startup.
Last year, he was also recognized by Forbes when they listed him in the ’30 under 30′ list of top young innovators
The next technology era will not be defined by software alone. It will be engineered through advances in computing, semiconductors, photonics, intelligent machines, biology, energy, materials, security and space. The decisive question is no longer only what can be invented. It is what can be commercialised, manufactured, adopted and scaled into globally competitive companies and industries.
