Tuija Kalpala is the President and CEO of Betolar Plc, a Finnish materials technology company listed on Nasdaq First North Growth. Betolar focuses on accelerating the transition to low‑carbon cement‑free solutions, as well as enabling the recovery of critical metals from mine tailings and industrial side streams such as slags. In addition, the company has solutions for protecting critical infrastructure. Kalpala joined Betolar in October 2023. She has over 20 years of international leadership experience across energy, renewable chemicals, and materials industries. Prior to Betolar, she held leadership roles at Neste Corporation. She holds a Master of Science degree in Economics (Finance and Accounting) and has worked extensively across Europe and North America. Kalpala also serves on the Board of Directors of Lassila & Tikanoja Plc.
