Jessica Schultz
Partner at Northzone
Jessica joined Northzone in 2014. Her primary areas of focus are e-commerce and consumer internet. Her portfolio includes Red Points, Na-kd, Fyndiq, Outfittery, Klarna, Matsmart and LEMONCAT. Jessica is a growth stage investor and has a strong interest in marketing and business intelligence.
Prior to joining Northzone, Jessica co-founded HelloFresh, the global recipe kit delivery service with market-leading operations in nine markets. At HelloFresh, Jessica was the global CMO, and spearheaded the global marketing operation. Being in the fundraising hot seat several times, Jessica learned a thing or two about VC thinking, believing in your own version of a big vision, but most importantly focus over control.
Jessica’s greatest lesson from her days as an entrepreneur is that you have to keep on moving, as fast as possible: “if you feel like you’re in control, you’re not running fast enough.”
However, it takes more than speed to win. Jessica comes from a fast-track strategy-consulting career with L.E.K. Consulting, and apart from developing an almost un-healthy love for Excel, Jessica learned to trust data and use it to fail fast and dust off even faster. Jessica is therefore no stranger to failure; in fact, she sees it as a key to continuous improvement. Half-jokingly Jessica adds: “you are only learning when you don’t see what lies ahead”.
In her spare time, you are likely to find this Northzoner cooking up a storm, improving her yoga skills, travelling the world or reading up on the latest trends in marketing and e-commerce.
Jessica holds a MSc in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics.
