Daniel Sazonov is the Mayor of Helsinki and a 32-year-old Master of Laws graduate from the University of Helsinki. Before assuming the role of mayor, Mr. Sazonov served as Deputy Mayor of Helsinki, responsible for health care, social services, and rescue services.
As Mayor, Mr. Sazonov is dedicated to shaping Helsinki into a welcoming and bold city that effectively serves the varying needs of its residents and offers the conditions for the best possible urban life. Under his leadership, the city launched a new strategy titled “A Helsinki We Can Be Proud Of”. A key mission of mayor Sazonov is ensuring Helsinki remains an international, vibrant and livable city for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
